Omari Hutchinson has joined Ipswich Town on loan, Chelsea have just announced on their official website.

The young talent joined the club from Arsenal’s youth system on a free transfer a year ago, and had a season mainly playing in the development squad, with a couple of short first team cameos.

It seemed inevitable he would take a loan this season as he looks to really get stuck into senior football, and the influx of expensive Brazilian wingers to the squad won’t have convinced him he’s in with much more of a chance in the first team this year than last year.

Ipswich will hopefully provide a good place for Hutchinson to develop his obvious talent. It’s going to be an uphill battle to get another look in at Stamford Bridge if this influx of wonderkids continues, so Hutchinson has his work cut out. Just 19, the Championship can be a real battle – let’s hope it’s the making of him.
