Manchester United summer signing Antony is likely to miss Brazil’s second group-stage match against Switzerland on November 28.

According to 90min, the 22-year-old missed training on both Friday and Saturday, making him unlikely to feature for the side on Monday.

He made his World Cup debut on Thursday against Serbia; an 11-minute appearance off the bench. Antony may have been more likely to start next week due to the injury of Neymar, who sustained an ankle issue that has ruled him out of the group stage of the tournament.

The forward also missed United’s final fixtures before the international break and Erik ten Hag confirmed his injury on October 30, so it may be the same issue flaring up.

The Selecao look likely to qualify from Group G after a dominant 2-0 performance on Friday secured their place on top of the group. Hopefully, the United star can recover and make a statement on the biggest stage before returning to Old Trafford.
