Roma midfielder Houssem Aouar has been diagnosed with a lesion to the adductor in his left thigh, but there is some good news against Bologna.

The Algeria international was in the starting XI for the midweek Europa League victory over Sheriff Tiraspol at the Stadio Olimpico.

He suffered a muscular issue in the first half and was substituted during the break.

Now tests have shown there is a lesion to the adductor in his left thigh.

This type of injury generally requires several weeks out, in the region of a month, so Aouar is not expected back in action until 2024.

He joins Paulo Dybala, Chris Smalling, Marash Kumbulla and Tammy Abraham on the treatment table.

However, the good news for Jose Mourinho is that Sardar Azmoun is in the squad for tomorrow’s clash with Bologna.

Also making the trip are Leonardo Spinazzola and Gianluca Mancini, but Romelu Lukaku is suspended following his straight red card in the 1-1 draw with Fiorentina.
