Former Liverpool star Javier Mascherano is prepared to hold talks with Manchester United in the coming weeks.

Mascherano, a former Reds and Barcelona player, is the Argentina U20 coach for the upcoming U20 World Cup.

United star Alejandro Garnacho is one that Mascherano wants to call up for the tournament.

However, United are loathe to lose him, as he would miss Premier League games before the end of the season.

Per The Telegraph, Mascherano will fly in to England next week to talk with United.

FIFA rules do not necessarily apply to this tournament, given it is happening while club matches are also ongoing.
