Argentina Under-20s boss Javier Mascherano has confirmed the international future of Alejandro Garnacho.

The Manchester United youngster has been involved in a tug of war between Spain and the South American nation.

Garnacho, who has burst onto the scene at United since last season, has pledged his future to Argentina.

Mascherano told TyC Sport: "Garnacho's discovery is Garnacho's and his decision to want to play for Argentina.

None of this would have happened if he didn't want to play, that is the reality, and he knows it.

"We are grateful. We are happy that the players who are projected can play in the major league."
