Arsenal and Chelsea are reportedly keen on the Bundesliga defender Luca Netz.

A report from HITC claims that the two clubs have scouted the talented young defender number of times this season and his form has attracted interest from other clubs as well.

Netz is regarded as one of the finest young defensive talents in the Bundesliga and he could prove to be a quality long-term position for the two London clubs.

It is no secret that Arsenal need more depth in the left back department. Oleksandr Zinchenko is the only reliable left back at the club right now and Mikel Arteta needs to bring in more competition for places. Kieran Tierney is on loan at Real Sociedad and he is expected to be sold permanently in the summer.

Netz could compete with the Ukrainian international for starting spot next season and he could be a key player for Arsenal in the near future.

Meanwhile, Chelsea spent a substantial amount of money on Marc Cucurella when they signed him from Brighton but the Spaniard has not been able to live up to the expectations. He could be sold at the end of the season and the Blues need to bring in a quality replacement. Netz would be the ideal competition for Ben Chilwell and the two players could push each other for the starting spot.

The opportunity to move to the Premier League could be a tempting proposition for the young defender and the 20-year-old will feel that regular football in England could accelerate his development and help him fulfil his tremendous potential.
