According to recent reports, Manchester United’s hierarchy is open to receiving offers for defender Axel Tuanzebe.

That’s according to a recent report from the Telegraph, who claims the Red Devils are wary of seeing the English centre-back’s contract expire that would allow him to depart for free next summer.

Tuanzebe, 23, has remained a fringe player since he made his senior competitive debut all the way back in 2017.

Despite first featuring for the club well over four years ago, the 23-year-old has only managed to rack up 37 senior appearances, in all competitions.

Now with his contract set to expire in 12-months time, this summer could see the pacey centre-back move on.

The Telegraph notes that there are currently two Premier League sides interested in signing Tuanzebe – Newcastle United and Aston Villa – a club the defender has previously enjoyed a loan spell with.

However, despite negotiations understood to be at an early stage, it has been claimed that Steve Bruce’s Magpies are struggling to come up with the finances required to make a summer move happen.
