Daichi Kamada has struggled at Lazio and there are reports Atalanta or Napoli could pounce on a curious clause in his contract.

The Japan international was a free agent after his contract with Eintracht Frankfurt ran down and had been in advanced talks with both Milan and Roma, but could not agree terms.

Instead, he opted for Lazio, but contributed one goal and one assist in 28 competitive appearances for the club, dropping right down the pecking order.

Things might change now that Igor Tudor has replaced Maurizio Sarri and changed the tactical system, though Kamada has an ace up his sleeve.

According to reports in Italy, there is a clause in his contract that would allow him to leave as a free agent at the end of this season.

If that was the case, then Atalanta and Napoli would be interested in swooping for the 27-year-old.

Napoli had already been in talks with Kamada’s agents last summer, but it fell apart because the club insists on having full control of image rights.

Galatasaray had also tried to sign the Japanese midfielder in January.
