Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera is full of pride winning the Copa del Rey.

Hundreds of thousands of fans celebrated with the players on their river parade yesterday.

Herrera said: "I have won in Manchester and Paris, but this is something unique and different from everything. They have seen me win in Paris and Manchester, but winning here is different.

"We won with a group of friends, on the street there are people who like football but also people who don't care much and who only like Athletic.

"We hope that it will not take another 40 years to repeat it. This is something that has been expected for a long time. We have had the photo of the barge in Lezama for a long time and we have always said that it would be spectacular to experience it. It is a triumph for everyone, also for those who are not in the team now, for all those who have fought with this club.

"We really want to enjoy the day. We don't really know what we are going to experience because they are sending us a lot of photos of what the estuary is like. We will add dimension to it when it's over."

Iigo Lekue also said: "This morning, in the WhatsApp group of players, the captain said let us not forget that all the people who have spent the night waiting for the barge to pass are there for us.

"On Tuesday we had an incredible time with a completely improvised party in the street with many young fans and we hope that this will also be something special."
