Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak says they deserved their 1-1 draw with Real Madrid.

Brahim Diaz had Real 1-0 ahead before Marcos Llorente struck a late equaliser.

Oblak later said: "The way the game went, losing 1-0, if you draw the point it's good, but we wanted to win the game although the start wasn't entirely good, it was difficult for us.

"We could have tied it, also lost, but it's one more point. We haven't gotten closer to Madrid in LaLiga even though we wanted to, but the way the game went with one point we have to be happy.

"We have already played four games and if we do well in the Champions League we might play again. I think we always compete well against them, it is not easy or comfortable for them to play against us and we do the best we can to try to beat them.

"We know the players they have and their ambitions and we do everything we have in our power to be able to win them and the truth is this season in all the games we have shown our face and we have been good."
