Barcelona left-back Marcos Alonso will leave the club at the end of the season, with just one appearance to his name since he recovered from injury in March. The 34-year-old is out of contract, and has been heavily linked with a move to Atletico Madrid.

Some have gone as far as to say that the deal is agreed, but Fabrizio Romano has denied this to be the case, explaining that while Alonso is looking for a new club, he is not in talks with Atletico. Los Rojiblancos are looking to strengthen their defence this summer, but left-back is not believed to be one of the priority positions.

During his first season Alonso played an important role as a rotational option, but missing three months through injury this season has seen his participation almost non-existent. Brought in on a free from Chelsea, Alonso was wanted by Xavi Hernandez, and it appears that he will be following his coach out of the door this summer.
