Atletico Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente denies he was seeking to wind-up Sergio Ramos on Christmas Eve.

Llorente proved the matchwinner against Ramos' Sevilla on Saturday night.

In the aftermath, Llorente posted a snap of his winner to social media which also featured former Real Madrid captain Ramos.

Fans claimed the selection was deliberate in an effort to wind-up Ramos, but Llorente later insisted: It is best to stick to the facts. A photo of the goal, the only one we had, and a Merry Christmas message on Christmas Eve. Honestly, there is no more conversation possible. I have never made fun of a colleague.

(I'm) happy with the victory and with disconnecting for a few days. It's unfortunate to have to clarify this, but that's the way the world goes. Again, happy holidays to everyone."
