Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez admits he's delighted with his current form.

The 29 year-old is in some of the best form of his career.

He told Mundo Deportivo: "This is because the results are happening. My way of playing is always the same. I had five assists and a goal in the Champions League. Despite the numbers that are not bad for the minutes I have been running. I still haven't found myself 100% comfortable in games.

"I am not at a level that I feel comfortable with, in a dynamic that finds me super fast, I find myself with significant confidence to try to do things in three quarters of the field. Before scoring the goal in the Champions League, I had several occasions in which I was hasty when choosing because I was eager to score a goal, because I wanted to materialize those good feelings in some way. That goal in the Champions League was good for me to be able to have more peace of mind to play.

"When you are closer to the area it is easier. It is true that I am very stubborn, sometimes I go too high and work less on getting the ball out. Sometimes the team needs me there too, the team needs me from three quarters forward. The coach always told me in my beginnings that maybe Filipe and Arda played on the left, and Sal, he told me, I don't want you to touch the ball, I want you to come in and score the goal. It is what defines me that sometimes even though I touch the ball less I have to be there to provide assists or score the goal.

"And that marks my game because if I play a good game but I don't give an assist and I don't score a goal it seems like I haven't done anything, but if I do the same and I give an assist or score a goal they already say that I have played a great game. It's what I have to play with, I know how to manage that because it's what I like. I live from this."
