Real Madrid, who are currently top of La Liga and ten points clear of rivals Barcelona can afford to ‘joke around’. Midfielder Aurelien Tchouaméni was seen yelling to teammate Eduardo Camavinga to ‘shut up’ while giving an interview. While many guessed the reason for his sudden outburst, all doubts were cleared when the #18 explained the reason for his ‘insult’.

Dubbed ‘Friendship FC’ on social media, the club is known for its tightly-knit group of players, who share a good relationship both on and off the field. It is a common sight to see Madrid players joke about and make fun of each other on social media as well. Both Tchouaméni and Camavinga had goal contributions in Real Madrid’s 2-1 win against UD Las Palmas.

After asking his club teammate and partner in midfield to shut up, Tchouaméni gave some insight into Camavinga’s behaviour. The latter kept on interrupting Tchouaméni as he gave a post-match interview.

In a light-hearted insult, Tchouaméni said:

He (Camavinga) keeps taking all the time. Aurelien Tchouaméni said

Both Camavinga and Tchouaméni have been crucial to Real Madrid’s midfield this season.

Aurelien Tchouaméni scores winner as Real Madrid gain two-point-lead against Girona

Real Madrid were ‘tested’ by 9th place Las Palmas in La Liga on Saturday. The Los Blancos went behind at the start of the second half owing to a goal from Javier Muñoz. Sandro Ramirez‘s remarkable solo effort on the right wing saw Muñoz get on the end of his low cross to make it 1-0. However, Real Madrid were in no mood to drop points after Eduardo Camavinga set up Vinicius Jr. for a sublime finish at the far post.

The Frenchman was then replaced by International teammate Aurelien Tchouaméni. The game hung in the balance for the next twenty minutes and just as Las Palmas thought they had salvaged a point, Real scored its second. Tchouaméni leapt the highest to meet Toni Kroos‘ cross. His glancing header went beyond the reach of Alvaro Valles and into the back of the net.

Following the win, Real Madrid now have a two-point lead over Girona, who’ve been in stellar form this season. The latter have had an impeccable record in the league, except for a draw against Almeria. As it stands, Real Madrid have 54 points while Girona are close behind with 52. FC Barcelona are ten points behind with 44 in 21 games.
