Barcelona coach Xavi was delighted with their 4-2 win at Real Betis.

Ferran Torres scored a hat-trick on the day, with Isco scoring twice for Betis.

Xavi said: "We were very good when they scored the goals against us. Very controlled. We have been very good, we dominated Betis a lot in their stadium. In a specific play where Araujo and Ilaki did not understand each other, I don't know if there was a previous foul... the goal made us tense, the tie came but then we dominated again.

"It is an important step forward in a stadium where no one had won, with young players and personality. The culs will have enjoyed the face we have shown. We had a game like that.

"It wasn't a complete match but it was a great game."

On Torres, he said: "I give him a lot of value. He alone has turned the tables. We spoke in the summer, he sent me a message saying that he was willing to succeed at Barcelona and he was very clear about it. He is very strong mentally, I am very happy for him because he is an extraordinary guy.

"He has earned it hard."

And on teen Pau Cubarsi, he added: "He is a very capable footballer. He doesn't look like he's 16 when you talk to him. Focused, responsible... he has not lost balls, he has played with sense. He is going to mark an era at Bara. Same as Lamine.

"We continue to build very young footballers but they are very qualified. When you speak you realise the maturity.

"They are the present and future of the club."
