Barcelona coach Xavi has questioned the Competition Committee overturning Vinicius Junior's red card.

The Real Madrid star was sent off late in defeat at Valencia for slapping Hugo Duro.

But the red card was wiped by the Competition Committee, which claimed the referee was not shown the lead-up video by VAR where Duro had grabbed the Brazilian.

After defeat to Real Valladolid, Xavi said last night: "Don't know. This is a question for the Committee. I already said what I thought about the issue of racism but that is for the Committee, but I am surprised that they withdraw the red from Vinicius; there was an attack and it is unquestionable.

"Expulsion has nothing to do with that. I don't know if it's fair. My opinion is that acts of racism must be censored. And the other is unquestionable. There was an assault. And I'm surprised that the red is withdrawn."
