Barcelona will have to make sales this summer, and while the ones they do make will be dictated by the offers on the table, there is a preferred route in Can Barca. It is expected that at least one major star will be out the door, and while Barcelona do not want to sell their best players, it could be more – especially if they want to make signings this summer.

Last week it was revealed that Frenkie de Jong, while he still wants to stay at the club, is more open to an exit than he was in previous years. Many take this to mean, that it is no longer impossible for the Dutchman to move on five years after joining. Diario AS also say that for Barcelona, their preference would be to sell de Jong rather than Ronald Araujo or Raphinha.

Both the Uruguayan and de Jong have received interest from Bayern Munich, but ultimately, Barcelona are unlikely to be in a position to choose. It is believed that the priority at Barcelona this summer is to sign a pivot in midfield, to better complement the options they have.
