Xavi Simons made himself an even more household name despite RB Leipzig losing their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie to Real Madrid. The 20-year-old now has FC Barcelona, likely wondering how they let that talent escape their academy.

Simons, who is on loan from Paris Saint-Germain to RB Leipzig, will likely garner interest as top European clubs see whether the Parisians are open to selling him. One of them will reportedly be Barcelona.

According to AS (h/t Le10Sport), Barcelona is reportedly tempted by the idea of bringing back Simons. The situation seems complicated for the Catalan club, as the Dutch international is under contract with PSG until mid-2027.

After this season, Simons will return to PSG and be part of a young squad. The Dutchman has the responsibility to be one of the faces of the club as they transition into a new era, with Kylian Mbappé reportedly leaving once his contract expires in June.

It’s unlikely that the capital club will move off the youngster this summer, as he’s their future. Nonetheless, it won’t stop several clubs from asking about his availability but expect PSG to reject any interest.
