Barcelona has expressed interest in signing Tottenham Hotspur’s Giovani Lo Celso and are prepared to offer Clement Lenglet as part of the deal, according to reports from Mundo Deportivo.

Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez is said to hold a strong admiration for the Argentine midfielder.

However, Barcelona’s financial challenges pose a hurdle as they aim to acquire Lo Celso at a reasonable cost.

The report suggests that Barcelona are optimistic about reaching an agreement with Spurs regarding the player and are willing to include Clement Lenglet as part of the deal.

The French defender, spent the previous season on loan with Tottenham.

Xavi Hernandez is reportedly seeking players with exceptional passing abilities to complement star striker Robert Lewandowski.

Lo Celso has emerged as a potential replacement for veteran midfielder Sergio Busquets, who is set to leave the club this summer.

It is unlikely that Spurs would be interested in a permanent move for Lenglet, as he was initially intended to be a stop-gap signing for them last season.

However, Tottenham may be open to offloading Lo Celso, and a cash-only offer from Barcelona could be a viable solution.

Barcelona are not the only club targeting him. He is also reportedly being eyed by Aston Villa who are now managed by Lo Celso’s former manager Unai Emery.

The Argentinian spent his first loan spell at Villarreal under Unai Emery and became an important player for the team.

Now at Villa, reports have suggested that he could be interested in reuniting with the midfielder.
