In order to raise the money required to bring in the signings needed for Xavi Hernandez’s squad, Barcelona will be looking to move several fringe players during the summer transfer window. One of those that will be a leading candidate to be sold is Clement Lenglet, who’s currently spending the season on loan with Aston Villa.

Barcelona failed in their efforts to sell Lenglet last summer, which meant that they had to settle for another loan deal. They hope that it won’t be the case again this time around, although their attempts to sell won’t be easy.

One avenue that Barcelona could have used is Saudi Arabia, with Lenglet having attracted interest from clubs there last summer. However, the French defender has no intention of leaving Europe, as reported by Sport.

With this blocked, Barcelona may severely struggle to sell Lenglet for the third successive summer. That would be a big blow, as they are desperate to get his wages off the books as soon as possible.
