Barcelona to face MLS clubs Inter Miami, NY Red Bulls in July

One of the biggest and most recognizable names in world football and all of sport is traveling from Europe for a summer vacation in the United States that will include making multiple stops.

Per Jeff Carlisle and Moises Llorens of ESPN, Spanish giants Barcelona will play July friendlies against Major League Soccer clubs Inter Miami CF and New York Red Bulls. Inter Miami will host Barcelona at DRV PNK Stadium on July 19, while the Red Bulls will welcome Barcelona to Red Bull Arena for a game on July 30.

"We look forward to welcoming Barcelona during their preparation for the 2022-2023 La Liga season," Inter Miami chief soccer officer and sporting director Chris Henderson said for an official release. "The team is excited for the challenge to match up against some of the most talented players in the world."

Red Bulls general manager Marc de Grandpre added:

"We are extremely honored to host FC Barcelona at Red Bull Arena, one of the premier soccer venues in all of North America. Since 2010, we have proudly hosted many of the top men's and women's clubs throughout the world and on July 30, we look forward to writing a new chapter in this stadium's history when welcoming Barca for a match against your New York Red Bulls."

Carlisle and Llorens also noted that Barcelona are still looking to play summer friendlies in the U.S. versus fellow breakaway European Super League teams Real Madrid and Juventus. It was previously reported those matchups were in jeopardy and that the three clubs were exploring other options for games that could be held in the U.S. during their offseasons.
