After Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi’s departures from the European scene, the title of best player in football is up for grabs. One FC Barcelona sensation believes that the race is between players, with both soon being direct rivals.

One of the players in the race to grab the best player in football title is Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappé. However, several players are competing with the Frenchman.

In an interview with Bild (h/t Football Espana), Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski noted who he sees as the best player in football. The European scene has a new generation of young talents, and the veteran striker cited two players: Mbappé and Real Madrid sensation Jude Bellingham.

“It’s difficult to say because we still have the Euros to play and the decisive matches in the Champions League,” Lewandowski said. “But at this moment, Mbappé and Bellingham are the most outstanding players in the world.”

Mbappé will reportedly leave PSG this summer when his contract expires in June, and many expect him to join Real Madrid. As a result, Lewandowski and Barcelona will face the two players that he believes are the best in the world next season, which will be a challenge for the team attempting to contain them.
