Barcelona's Sergio Aguero to miss 10 weeks with calf injury

Barcelona announced in a statement Monday that tests completed on Sergio Aguero revealed a right calf injury that will sideline him for at least 10 weeks.

Aguero joined Barcelona from Manchester City on a two-year contract in June. He spent 10 years at City, becoming the club's all-time leading goalscorer with 260 goals in 390 games.

When he made the move to Spain, Aguero said, "We all know that Barcelona are the best club in the world. I think I made a great decision to be here and of course it is a step forward in my career."

However, the 33-year-old reportedly wants to leave Barcelona before ever suiting up in a game for the club following Lionel Messi's departure. Aguero and Messi are good friends, and a big reason why he joined Barca this summer was the opportunity to play with Messi.

If Aguero is able to part ways with Barcelona, it's unclear where he might end up next. It certainly won't be with Paris Saint-Germain, who are prepared to sign Messi to a two-year contract.
