Inter have won their 20th Scudetto and the party was extra special following the Derby della Madonnina victory, as players danced, sang and enjoyed the fireworks.

The Nerazzurri needed a victory against their arch-rivals Milan to secure the Serie A title with five rounds to spare and did it with a 2-1 result thanks to Francesco Acerbi and Marcus Thuram goals.

This got the celebrations started inside San Siro, even though ‘hosts’ Milan tried their best to drown out the enjoyment with music played at full volume.

Players including Lautaro Martinez and Federico Dimarco clambered up onto the goalposts to get closer to the ultras in the Curva Nord, while Thuram put his shirt on a corner flag, then on himself back to front.

His father Lilian Thuram was in the stands to take part in the celebrations too.

Inter get the party started

Fortunately he was not in the Inter locker room and missed some frankly dubious dance routines from players like Hakan Calhanoglu and Nicolò Barella, much to the bemusement of Yann Bisseck.

Dimarco told fans to “wait for me at Piazza Duomo,” the classic meeting place for title celebrations in the city and where he had enjoyed these moments before as purely an Inter fan in his youth.

There was even time for a rather familiar refrain we heard in these same streets when Milan won the Scudetto.
