Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing Brentford striker Ivan Toney at the end of the season.

The 28-year-old striker is expected to be on the move during the summer transfer window and he wants to join a big club. A report from HITC claims that Tottenham are one of the clubs keeping tabs on him and they could look to make a move.

The striker was initially valued at £80 million but Brentford are now prepared to reduce their asking price by nearly 40% this summer. They could sanction his departure for £50 million. The development will certainly come as a major boost for Tottenham and it will be interesting to see if they are prepared to pay the reported asking price.

The England international has established himself as a reliable Premier League striker, and he could prove to be a quality addition to the total attack. Spurs decided not to sign a quality replacement for Harry Kane at the start of the season and Toney could be the one to fill his void.

Toney could transform Tottenham

The Brentford striker is more than just a goal scorer and his ability to hold up the ball and bring others into the game could prove to be very useful. He will help Tottenham creatively as well. The 28-year-old is very good at taking players on in the final third and beating them with his flair.

The striker is at the peak of his powers right now and he will look to make an immediate impact at Tottenham, if the move goes through. He could transform them in the final third and help them compete for major trophies next season.
