Frosinone utility man Marco Brescianini joked that he will play in goal next week, after filling in at a number of different positions in recent weeks.

The Milan academy graduate was on the scoresheet during Frosinone’s 3-0 victory over Salernitana on Friday night, tucking away a neat 25th minute finish after a tidy ball over the top from Emaneule Valeri.

Brescianini was operating in midfield this week, although slightly further forwards than his usual position in front of the defence. In recent weeks he has also had to fill in at full-back and in defence at certain stages.

Speaking to Sky Sport Italia after full-time, via TMW, Brescianini said: “Today’s victory is massive as we continue to fight for safety.

“I’m a fairly flexible player. I hope to improve further in a lot of aspects. I’ve been at full-back, a midfielder, I always try to adapt and try to be useful. Next week, I’ll go in goal,” he joked.

Frosinone relegated Salernitana on Friday evening with their 3-0 victory, and the home side looked comfortable for vast portions of the match, particularly in the first hour.

“The performances have never been lacking,” Brescianini continued. “We’ve showed calmness together with the club. Us, the club, the fans, we are all coming together on the same side to reach our objective.”

Frosinone will have another huge battle in the relegation fight when they play next in Serie A, which will be away against 16th-placed Empoli next weekend.
