Premier League duo Brighton and Hove Albion and Crystal Palace are among the clubs who would be ready to rival Inter for the signature of Tigre striker Mateo Retegui.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the interest from the Premier League is starting to emerge in the 23-year-old following his goalscoring debut for the Italian national team against England.

Inter have reportedly been tracking Retegui for some time, well before the striker was called up by Italian national team coach Roberto Mancini.

However, the Nerazzurri will find that the competition is only set to increase now that the 23-year-old has shown what he can do on the international stage, scoring in his first ever cap for Italy in a 1-2 loss to England in a EURO 2024 qualifier.

According to the Corriere, Brighton and Palace are two of the first teams from the English top flight to start thinking about rivalling teams from the continent to sign Retegui.
