Burnley boss Vincent Kompany has paid tribute to for Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson.

The Clarets go to Palace on Saturday, which will mark Oliver Glasner's first game in charge of the Eagles.

Kompany said of Hodgson: "For me personally, I've played against his teams - but to be able to share the touchline and manage against someone of his experience, it's been a privilege.

"I remember after the game at Turf Moor he was quite generous with his time and we had a good chat.

"These guys are obviously full of experience in all sorts of situations and I've felt privileged to share the touchline with people like him, and I wish him well, and health and happiness."

On Glasner, he added: "He's a coach with a lot of clarity in what he does. Every team he's set up so far, he's set up in a very clear way with a lot of intent in their game.

"But it's the Premier League so every week you play against great managers and people trying to bring something to the league - which is the beauty of the league."
