Benfica have made up for the departure of Goncalo Ramos to Paris Saint-Germain by signing untapped Fiorentina striker Arthur Cabral. Using the funds received from the deal for the 25-year-old Brazilian, the Viola will re-invest in the transfer market, with Lucas Beltran atop their wishlist.

Confirmations regarding Cabral’s departure have now been set in stone after Fiorentina accepted a €25M bid for the striker, including bonuses and add-ons. One of the main reasons for the Firenze outfit selling Cabral is to channel the incoming funds to Argentina, where the transfer market race for Beltran is heating up by the day.

Cabral failed to etch his mark at the Artemio Franchi, although he scored an impressive 17 goals in 48 appearances across all competitions last season. All in all, he registered 19 goals in 64 appearances for the Viola since joining in January 2022.

Fiorentina now have three proper center-forwards in their ranks – Christian Kouame, Luka Jovic, and Louis Munteanu. They expect to add a fourth very soon.

Our Take on the Cabral Exit

Cabral remained an unfulfilled potential within Fiorentina’s ranks in the last season and a half, despite his ability to score some impressive strikes. However, the transfer arrives as a win-win situation for both the Italians and the Brazilian, who can look forward to forging new memories with their new paths.
