AC Milan defender Davide Calabria has said that Inter will not win the scudetto when they face the Rossoneri in the Derby della Madonnina in April.

Speaking during an interview with Radio Serie A (via Calciomercato.com), the right-back dismissed the idea of the Nerazzurri celebrating a title win in a stadium full of Milan fans.

The two teams are set to face one another in the derby at San Siro on April 22, with Milan being the home team. Whilst there are a handful of games to play before then, there is a chance that a win in that game will allow Inter to mathematically secure the Serie A title.

Simone Inzaghi’s side have been by far and away the best team in Serie A this season and currently boast a 14-point lead over Milan who sit in second place.

There is almost no doubt that they will win the title, but nobody associated with Milan wants it to happen during the derby, let alone when Milan are the home team.

Calabria was dismissive of this idea, saying: “It’s still too early to talk about Inter’s second star in the derby, there are games before, but we want to win them all, so it won’t happen.”

He was also asked about the quality of Rafael Leao and he explained that he can be a Ballon d’Or winner.

“If he becomes more aware of his talent he can become number one in the world, I think he’s a Ballon d’Or winner. On a physical level, with those physical characteristics, I don’t see many like him,” he said.
