Davide Calabria warns Milan ‘will do everything’ to avoid Inter celebrating the Scudetto in the Derby della Madonnina and tips Rafael Leao for a future Ballon d’Or.

The two city rivals are at the top of the Serie A table, with a 14-point gap between them and nine rounds left to play.

It is entirely possible that Inter could mathematically clinch the title and the second ‘star’ – one is on the jersey permanently for every 10 Scudetto wins – when they go head-to-head at San Siro on Monday April 22.

“It is still early to talk about Inter getting their second star in the derby,” Calabria told Radio Serie A.

“There are a lot of matches to play before then and we will do everything to win them all, so that won’t happen.”

Milan leapfrogged Juventus into second place and are also gearing up for the Europa League quarter-final against Roma.

Rafael Leao scored a stunning goal in the Round of 16 against Slavia Praha and is rediscovering his confidence following a rough patch.

“If he becomes more aware of just how talented he is, then he can become the best in the world. I think he can win the Ballon d’Or,” added Leao’s teammate.

“In terms of technique and physical characteristics, I don’t see many like him.”

Milan resume the Serie A season this weekend against Fiorentina, kicking off at the Stadio Artemio Franchi at 19.45 GMT on Saturday.

Due to Easter Sunday, the round is split between Saturday and Monday fixtures.
