Canada & Albania Stars To Return To Training For Inter Milan Today

Wingback Tajon Buchanan and midfielder Kristjan Asllani will be back in training for Inter Milan today.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, who report on the filtering of players back from international duty.

At the moment, the international break is ongoing.

That means that Inter’s squad has largely been away from training, apart from those players who did not receive call-ups from their national teams.

A couple of players made early returns from international duty after picking up injuries.

Defender Stefan de Vrij suffered a thigh strain. And goalkeeper Yann Sommer picked up a sprained ankle.

That means that those two players are currently recovering.

And according to Sky, Swiss international Sommer should be ready to be back in time for Inter’s first match back from the break against Empoli.

And Dutch international de Vrij, meanwhile, is targeting a return in the following match, against Udinese.

In the meantime, Sky report, the rest of the Inter squad are now starting to filter back into training.

Tajon Buchanan & Kristjan Asllani Back In Training For Inter

The first two players back at Buchanan and Asllani, according to Sky.

Canadian international Buchanan played one match with his national team. That was a playoff for the Copa America this summer against Trinidad and Tobago.

Canada won that match, with Buchanan starting, to secure a spot at the tournament this summer.

Meanwhile, Asllani has been off with the Albanian national team.

Albania lost to the likes of Chile and Sweden in friendly matches over the break.

Both of Buchanan and Asllani are expected back today, according to Sky.

Meanwhile, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi granted one extra day of rest to the Italian internationals in his squad.

All of Nicolo Barella, Matteo Darmian, Alessandro Bastoni, and Davide Frattesi were with the Azzurri in the US, where they beat Ecuador in a friendly match.

Francesco Acerbi, however, was not part of the Italy squad. He pulled out due to the ongoing firestorm surrounding an alleged racial abuse incident involving Napoli’s Juan Jesus.

They returned from the US on Monday.

But considering the intercontinental travel, Inzaghi decided to give the quartet one extra day off. Therefore, the quartet should be back in training tomorrow.

And the last to return will be the South American internationals.
