Fabio Capello insists that Juventus lack quality and feels that Bianconeri will need at least four ‘top-class’ signings in the summer transfer window.

Juventus have only collected seven points in the last eight matches and sit third in the Serie A table, three points below Milan and 17 from leaders Inter.

Massimiliano Allegri has been blamed by most fans and media and looked irritable during a post-match interview with Sky Sport Italia on Sunday.

However, ex-Italian coach Fabio Capello feels the Livorno-born coach is not the only one responsible for Juventus’ recent poor run of form.

“First of all, let me say that Allegri worked miracles until the Derby d’Italia, keeping Juventus close to Inter. The two teams can’t be even compared in terms of quality and even Milan, who are now second, are more competitive than the Bianconeri,” Capello told Gazzetta.

“The game with Inter showed Juventus players the difference between the two teams. It affected them. Adrenaline and concentration went down and this negative period is a consequence.”

Allegri got upset on Sunday when asked why he doesn’t use an attacking trident rather than a 3-5-2 system.

“[The problem] It’s not the trident,” insisted Capello.

“Allegri doesn’t have Vinicius or Mbappé to line up three strikers.

“There are no doubts that Chiesa is dangerous when he plays wide; when he goes in the middle, it’s easier to mark him. Which players does Allegri have for an attacking trident with Chiesa and Vlahovic? Yildiz is a talent, but he has just started. Kean is coming back from an injury. Perhaps the only one who could play on the right is Cambiaso, but if Allegri sticks to 3-5-2, it is because he thinks he has more balance. No coach likes to hurt himself.”

Capello reveals Juventus’ main problem

Inter and Milan have created more goal-scoring opportunities than the Old Lady this term, and their attacks have been way more prolific.

“Do you know why? Inter have more quality in central midfield and Milan, on the left, can do anything across 90 minutes with Theo and Leao. At Juventus, the difference maker is Rabiot and it’s not a coincidence that Juventus’ struggles started when the Frenchman was not fully fit,” noted Capello.

So, how many signings will they need in the summer?

“At least four, but must be top-class. The club and the coach must agree on them, the coach must be heard when it comes to transfers,” Capello replied.

Allegri’s mentor, Giovanni Galeone, has recently suggested that the Livorno-born would be ideal for Manchester or Liverpool in the summer, and Capello seems to agree.

“Going abroad always enriches you culturally and technically. Max is smart, and I am convinced that, thanks to his ability to read the game, he would do well in England,” he concluded.
