Milan owner Gerry Cardinale took stock of the Stefano Pioli situation and met with Beppe Sala, the mayor of the city, as the club work on their new stadium project.

The Rossoneri are in a state of flux heading into the summer, clearly ready to move on from Pioli following their Europa League quarter-final exit to Roma last week. Now, their main goal is to avoid handing Inter the Scudetto in their Monday evening Derby della Madonnina.

In the meantime, Cardinale has consistently reiterated his ambitions and plans with Milan, keen to transform them into a fully sustainable and competitive side with their own stadium, possibly in the San Donato area of the city.

Cardinale takes stock

MilanNews.it details how Milan owner Cardinale had an official meeting with mayor Sala this morning, both for general relations and to discuss the ongoing San Donato stadium project.

The Rossoneri chief then took stock of the Pioli situation, keen to discuss the club’s next steps and possible replacements. Julen Lopetegui is one of the favourites, but his talks with West Ham complicate things.
