Carney Chukwuemeka #30 of Chelsea News Images

Reports on TeamTalk last night claimed that Chelsea are making plans to loan out Carney Chukwuemeka this summer.

Apparently newly promoted sides Burnley and Sheffield United are being considered as prime destinations for the midfielder, who was bought from Aston Villa just under a year ago.

While it will be great to see Carney finally in action, it’s all so silly and badly planned in hindsight. Chukwuemeka was getting game at Villa before we bought him. We could have loaned him right back there for this season, or to a different team where he would play even more.

Instead he’s had a wasted season sitting on the bench, and will now have a season playing for a newly promoted team when he might by now have progressed to our first team squad or at least to a second loan higher up the division.

He can still make up for lost time, but it’s very frustrating.
