Tottenham Hotspur crashed to a 2-1 defeat at home against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League last night, and Guglielmo Vicario has been slammed for his display.

It has been a disastrous season for Tottenham so far, and they find themselves 16th in the league table. They are likely to miss out on European qualification for the next season, unless they win the UEFA Europa League.

Tottenham players have been criticised heavily for their performances this season, and goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario was particularly disappointing last night. The Italian has done reasonably well since joining the club, but his weakness when it comes to dealing with balls into the box has been a major concern.

Former Premier League defender Jamie Carragher has revealed that his problems when it comes to dealing with balls into the box have now been exposed, and it is a huge problem for Tottenham. It will be interesting to see if the Italian can overcome his issues and improve in the coming weeks. Opposition players are clearly targeting him, and Spurs will have to find a solution.

Carragher said (h/t Daily Mail): “They actually feel this is a huge weakness for Tottenham. The goalkeeper’s not great. He’s not great on the first one, he’s not great on this one either. He’s never great with the ball coming into the box. It’s definitely something they’ve identified that this is a weakness for Tottenham Hotspur.”

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham decide to invest in another goalkeeper at the end of the season. They will need to plug multiple gaps in their squad during the summer transfer window. Although they have several quality players, they need to get rid of their weaknesses if they want to fight for trophies next year.
