Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher was delighted for Alfie Gilchrist after he struck for Chelsea last night.

The young defender scored his first goal for Chelsea in last night's 6-0 win against Everton.

Carragher told Sky Sports: "It was great to see when you see a local player. You could see how happy he was and it looked like when he was celebrating he was looking for his family in the stands so he could celebrate with them.

"He just showed that calmness, had to wait for the ball and make the right contact.

"You just see the way he waits even though it feels like an open goal. You see the celebration and he wanted to be in the crowd didn't he.

"That's a moment he will never forget. It's great for him."
