Romeo Lavia will have to wait at least another two months before he can make his Chelsea debut.

The Belgium international signed for the Blues from Southampton for a reported £58m in the summer after a back-and-forth with Liverpool.

Unfortunately, the 19-year-old suffered an ankle injury in training immediately after joining, delaying his highly anticipated debut.

It was first reported that he would be back after the October international break but it has now been revealed that he will be out of action until December.

According to the Mail, Chelsea doesn’t want to rush the youngster back, fearing that his ankle injury might worsen.

“I don’t believe [he will be back after the international break],” Mauricio Pochettino said.

“I cannot tell you, but he is still not running. After the international break, he is not going to be ready, Romeo.”

Lavia is just one of many injuries that the club have had to deal with this year.
