Journalist Ben Jacobs has confirmed that Levi Colwill won’t be leaving Chelsea this summer amid rumours of interest for the player.

Colwill is currently out on loan at Brighton from Chelsea and is extremely highly rated by those both at Stamford Bridge and the rest of Europe, with Liverpool and Manchester City registering interest the player this week.

However, Jacobs has come out this morning to state that the 20-year old central defender, dubbed the next John Terry by some, will not be departing Chelsea this summer.

Colwill is contracted to Chelsea until 2025, but Chelsea are said to be interested in extending that deal when he returns from loan in the summer.

With Jacobs reporting that Chelsea view the defender as an elite-level prospect, you’d imagine that he has a very big part to play in Chelsea’s future over the next decade and their fans will hope that he agrees to stay at the club next season.
