Chelsea is a global brand, and a football club that is appreciated and known widely.
There are always going to be more people who want to get involved in such a club, especially with the operations we are looking at now under the new owners and the big plans they have.
According to The Telegraph, Chelsea have held talks with a representative of a group of overseas investors who want to pump hundreds of millions of pounds into the club across all three team setups from the academy to the women’s, up to the men’s.
Catalina Kim was the individual heading the investors. Kim is the chief executive of C&P Sports Group and has brokered multi-million-pound deals between European football clubs including Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur, and helped Real Madrid set up their first academy in Korea.
And if I remember rightly, Kim was also involved in one of the other groups who were trying to purchase Chelsea when it was up for sale recently.
