Leny Yoro will be in demand this summer if he decides not to extend his contract with LOSC Lille, which expires in 2025. While the race appears between Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, the Frenchman is linked to Chelsea and Manchester United

However, according to French football expert and CBS Sports reporter Jonathan Johnson, moving to either of the Premier League giants might not be the best strategic move for Yoro’s career.

In an exclusive interview with PSG Talk, Johnson shared his insights on why Lille’s young star could potentially reject offers from Chelsea and Manchester United.

“Regarding sort of Chelsea [and] Manchester United, Chelsea without European football, I really don’t think we’re in a kind of position to spend big and go for somebody of that kind of talent who really needs to continue his development on the continental scene,” Johnson said.

“[As for] Manchester United, a lot will depend on the changes that will presumably be made at the end of the season, notably in terms of Erik Ten Hag and sort of the setup there in terms of recruiting talent.”

For Yoro to truly elevate his game and take the next step in his development, he needs to be tested in the crucible of high-pressure matches. Regular appearances in the UEFA Champions League could be the catalyst for his growth, allowing him to showcase his skills and resilience under intense scrutiny.

PSG and Real Madrid can guarantee that he will play in the top football club’s competition. As a result, it seems this race for one of France’s top young players could be a two-horse race rather than turning into a bidding war.
