Liverpool are reportedly keen on 18-year-old Chelsea starlet Lewis Bate.

That’s according to the Daily Mirror, who claim the Reds, West Ham, Southampton and Leeds United are all keeping tabs on the young midfielder.

Bate is believed to be in the middle of contract talks with Chelsea, but these discussions have been shelved amid interest from the aforementioned Premier League cluster.

Liverpool are expected to lose a young midfielder of their own to Manchester United this summer, with Ethan Ennis set to sign a three-year deal at Old Trafford.

Bate, once affectionately dubbed ‘the Sidcup Seedorf’ by Chelsea fans, would be a welcome addition to the Reds’ youth ranks – especially if Ennis departs.

As it stands, the 18-year-old will leave Stamford Bridge next month as his current contract winds down.
