One current Chelsea player is reportedly asking for similar wages to what new signing Moises Caicedo is earning at the club.

Caicedo signed from Brighton in the summer in what was a mega money deal, and now another midfielder is looking to earn close to what he is earning at the club.

As we are all aware, Conor Gallagher has a contract that runs out in 2025 with no sign of a new deal being agreed or even close to being agreed as of yet. Does that mean Chelsea will sell him this summer? Not necessarily.

That’s according to journalist Ben Jacobs writing in his latest exclusive and extensive inside Chelsea article for SPTC today.

Jacobs says that whilst Gallagher could absolutely still be sold this summer, talk of a new contract being agreed at the club is not something that has died out as of now.

But Gallagher would want wages close to what Caicedo is earning, per the report.

Jacobs said: “Chelsea could plausibly still offer Gallagher a new deal, but nothing has progressed as of now. And Gallagher would be looking for somewhere close to what Moises Caicedo earns. This would put him in the top-ten earners at the club, which is hardly surprising given he’s 24, has captained the side this season and is in outstanding form.”
