Chelsea are seeking to sign one or two new players in various positions on the field this summer.

Mauricio Pochettino is in London this week to sign his Chelsea contract and be officially announced as the next Blues boss, in what has been the worst kept secret of the last few weeks.

Chelsea will get their man, and Pochettino will be given all the tools to be able to do the tough job at Stamford Bridge. Although he won’t have to do much to get an improvement on this season, which has been hideous.

A midfielder is on the list of positions that the club and Pochettino will be looking at targeting this summer, and one name who continues to be linked is Southampton’s Romeo Lavia.

They have of course just been relegated, and insider Ben Jacobs believes this makes him gettable for Chelsea now this summer.

Writing in his latest exclusive and extensive Chelsea column this week, Jacobs said: “Chelsea are discussing various midfielders as well. Romeo Lavia is gettable now that Southampton are relegated. Chelsea aren’t the only club in that race.”
