Napoli sensation Victor Osimhen is reportedly one of the players linked to Paris Saint-Germain to possibly replace the production that Kylian Mbappé will leave behind when the Frenchman reportedly leaving this summer. However, Chelsea might have the edge in the sweepstakes for the Nigerian striker.

The Napoli standout seems poised for a summer move, with interested parties prepared to meet the hefty price tag required to pry him away from Serie A. As a result, the Blues are keen for a swoop this summer, but there’s a delay in advancing the file further.

According to transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have to first focus on who exits the club before they can consider what players are coming to bolster the team for next season.

“Chelsea have already started discussions with Napoli for Victor Osimhen, but they are moving slowly,” Romano wrote in his column for Caught Offside (h/t Le10Sport).

“The goalscorer has always been the priority for Chelsea. But before negotiating a deferred payment of the release clause, the Blues must first resolve the problem of who will leave before fully focusing on Osimhen.”

Nonetheless, Chelsea might have a free path to sign Osimhen, as recent reports suggest that Arsenal and PSG are cooling their interest in the player. The Gunners see the price as too expensive while the Ligue 1 side will likely focus on other areas first to improve the team.
