Since his arrival at Lazio earlier this year, coach Maurizio sarri has changed the daily routine at Formello.

As reported by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 62-year-old Italian coach has shaken things up since his arrival, starting with the way he handles the starting 11 announcement for matches.

Sarri will only confirm the starting 11 for a particular match just before departing for the stadium, in the pre-match meeting. Until he has arrived at the stadium, no-one is allowed to spread the news.

In addition, the mandatory training retreat before home games has been abolished and is now an optional retreat instead, with only the pre-game dinner being mandatory.

Sometimes before the training sessions in Formello, Sarri will head to the pitch before the squad, waiting for them to come out before high fiving and sharing a few words with each of them.

The 62-year-old Italian coach also did this before Lazio’s matches against Cagliari and Torino, which he was suspended for.

Sarri appreciates that it will take the squad a little bit of time to adapt to his system. He said the following after his experience at Chelsea:

It takes time to learn my methods.

At least three months, but time is an uncertainty, in my life I have experienced a bit of everything.
