Colorado Rapids vs. Sporting Kansas City postponed due to positive COVID-19 results

Sunday's match between the Colorado Rapids and Sporting Kansas City would've been the third time this season the clubs met. Unfortunately, the two sides now will have to wait before they meet again.

Major League Soccer announced that the Rapids' game against Kansas City has been postponed after one player and three staff members of Colorado's team tested positive for the coronavirus. There's no word on when the match will be made up.

During the MLS is Back Tournament, Kansas City beat Colorado 3-2 and the two sides played to a draw on Aug. 29. Since that game, the Rapids have gone 3-2-1, while Sporting has gone 1-1-3.

The postponement allows Rapids players such as Younes Namli and Diego Rubio to get some extra rest ahead of the team's matchup against the Portland Timbers on Oct. 3. However, the schedule is pretty busy from now until the playoffs, so it probably won't be easy to squeeze in a makeup game.
