Antonio Conte admits ‘many things can’t be done at Napoli’, sparking exit rumours after just eight months at the club.

Napoli will visit Monza at the U-Power Stadium today, but the matchday has been dominated by Conte’s words during a pre-match press conference on Friday.

The Italian tactician was asked how long it would take to build a competitive Napoli, but his reply (via TuttoNapoli) surprised the fans and the media.

“A lot of things were said at the beginning of the year. I can confirm some, but not others.

Conte’s latest claims spark Napoli exit rumours

“I won’t deny anything, but I don’t feel comfortable confirming everything I said. The matter with Kvara was clear. I said Napoli shouldn’t just be a stepping stone, and I don’t want to seem like a liar about things that didn’t happen. In these eight months in Naples, I’ve understood that many things just can’t be done.”

Conte is under contract with Napoli until June 2027, but his latest claims obviously sparked transfer speculation.

Italian newspapers on Saturday morning said the ex-Juventus and Inter tactician sent a warning to the club.

Conte has already been linked with Milan and Juventus, and many see his words as a way to prepare for a summer exit from the Stadio Maradona.

Conte’s Napoli are still running for the Serie A title, and they have a chance to catch Inter at the top of the table today when they visit strugglers Monza.
