Al Nassr manager, Rudi Garcia has openly criticised Cristiano Ronaldo after he squandered a huge opportunity in the first half of their Super Cup game.

The Portuguese striker has gotten off to a bad start in Saudi Arabia after his side was booted from the Saudi Super Cup after losing to Al-Ittihad 3-1.

Ronaldo was expected to absolutely tear up the league but has so far failed to score in his opening two competitive games. But he almost got off the mark when his point-blank header was saved by the opposition goalkeeper.

Immediately after the miss, Al-Itthiad scored and manager Garcia believes this was a pivotal moment.

‘One of the things that changed the course of the match was Cristiano’s missed opportunity in the first half,’ Garcia said.

‘I congratulate Al-Ittihad. They presented a much better first half than us, and we played a good second half, but unfortunately we were not able to adjust the result. It’s true that we regret losing the Super Cup, but we are still the first in the league.’

Fans of the club also had a pop at the striker and fans from around the world took to Twitter to mock the Portuguese international.
