Manchester United could be in the market for a new winger.

Crystal Palace star Michael Olise would prefer a move to Manchester United over Liverpool or Chelsea, according to The Metro.

The tricky winger, with an eye for goal, is expected to leave Selhurst Park this season after a season which has been plagued by hamstring injuries.

Interest is expected to intensify around Olise this summer when a £60m release clause in his contract becomes active, after he signed a new deal at Palace a year ago amid interest from Man City and Chelsea.

It was a coup for Palace, even though Olise has missed a lot of football due to injuries this season, because his release clause back then was a mere £35m.

The question United and Ineos Sports group should be asking is whether Olise’s injuries are of concern in the long-term future? Otherwise the money would be better spent elsewhere and nobody is disputing the player’s ability to be a positive addition at Old Trafford.

It goes without saying that Olise would be a step up from Antony, who cost United a whopping £85m from Ajax. The clubs need to recruit a lot better this summer.
